This year I started off by introducing students to Wakelet Students' Ambassadors program. I wanted to expose students to fun learning through information technology.
Wakelet is an international educational platform for teachers and students to share their ideas and collaborate on projects.
Actually, I started Wakelet Students' Ambassadors project since beginning of the year coaching 6 students to complete the 6 tasks on Wakelet Students' Ambassadors.
These students were chosen first because they are interested in ICT and they are also keen on getting international certificates. 2 of them were not in the photo above.
On Wednesday, during English slot (Fun With English), we had prize giving ceremony for students who had won in the recent International Talent Show organised by Global Education Network (GEN) together with Wakelet Students' Ambassadors.
All the 6 Wakelet Students' Ambassadors were awarded with graduation certificates and file consisted of stationery.
Our school leaders, principal, Tuan Haji Mat Jelani Bin Mat Tasriff, Senior Assistant of Co-curriculum, En. Rosli B. Hussain and I also received our certificates and gifts as leaders of Wakelet Students' Ambassadors.
I gave a talk to students about Wakelet Students' Ambassadors program. Since time was limited, students only did 2 activities under Wakelet: Curation & Creativity. In the first activity, students presented about themselves and in the second activity, students designed their Wakelet flag. Students were very excited doing the activities. I modified the tasks into handwritten work since students were not allowed to bring mobile phones to school and we don't have laptops for all the students.
Overall, it was a great start for this year. Hopefully, I have more opportunities to integrate information technology into my daily teaching and learning to make learning memorable for students.
